Itenary Details

DAY01 ARRIVE KOCHI

Arrive Cochin, meet upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Kochi, or more familiarly Cochin is a city of many parts. Around for a long time, Kochi played a pivotal role in the development of shipping and trade in the region. Kochi's prime location on the west coast, its fine bay and protected harbor made it popular with seafarers and merchant ships who made frequent stops to stock up on spices, coffee and wood en route to the rich markets of Europe and West Asia. And so down the ages, Kochi prospered as a busy port city and commercial centre. Its seafront is still extremely relevant to Cochin and to India. In the evening, you will be taken to a Kathakali dance centre where you will witness the most elaborate of the dance forms in southern India.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY02 KOCHI VISIT-KUMARAKOM

Morning proceed for the sightseeing tour by visiting Mattancherry and visit the oldest Jewish Synagogue (Closed on Fridays Saturdays & All the Jewish holidays) in India, built in 1568; it was destroyed by the Portuguese and rebuilt by the Dutch a century later. You will also visit The Dutch Palace (Closed on Fridays) ‐ which was built in 1555 Continue your drive to Chinese fishing nets. The cantilevered fishing nets line the entrance to the harbor mouth. Your next stop will be St. Francis Church, originally named after Santo Antonio and dedicated to him as the Patron Saint of Portugal; St. Francis Church is the first church to have been in the new European influenced tradition. Originally a wooden building was replaced by the present stone building. Vasco De Gamma died on the site in 1524. After Lunch proceed for Kumarakom and check in at  the Hotel. Kumarakam is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam (16 kilometres (10 mi)), in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism.It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Kerala  , Evening sun set curise on backwaters.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY03 KUMARAKOM-PERIYAR 

After breakfast drive down to periyar through the hills traks and rubber plantations.On arrival check in hotel, Afternoon  visit Spice Plantations.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY04 PERIYAR

Early morning you will be taken for full day Trekking and Bamboo and Rafting at Periyar wildlife sanctuary.This is a dawn to dusk range hiking and rafting programme through some of the richest forest tracts of Periyar Tiger Reserve. Starting at 8 am from the boat landing, a mosaic of habitats will be traversed before the party gets into rafts made of bamboos.The forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake.The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists. Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served en route.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY05 PERIYAR-MADURAI 

After breakfast proceed to Madurai and on arrival check in hotel.Afternoon sightseeing tour of Madurai Thirumalai Naiker Palace,Builder of this magnificent palace ruled as the seventh ruler of the Madurai Naick dynasty. He ruled Madurai from 1623 to 1659 A.D. He was the master builder of this age and he made magnificent contributions artarchitecture. Pudumantapam (vasantha mandapam) opposite to easter gate of Meenakshi Amman Temple was constructed by Thirumalai Naick. He also dug out the Vandiyur Teppakkulam, one of the worth seeing places in Madurai city. Traditions says that when the soil was excavated to make bricks for the construction of this palace, naturally a big pit was formed. Thirumalai Naick converted this pit in to a beautiful tank and constructed a small mantapam at the centre.

Madura Meenakshi Temple ,is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River in the temple city of Madurai It is dedicated to Parvati, known as Meenakshi, and her consort, Shiva, here named Sundareswarar. The temple forms the heart and lifeline of the 2500 year old cityof Madurai and is a significant symbol for the Tamil people, mentioned since antiquity in Tamil literature though the present structure was built between 1623 and 1655 It houses 14 gopurams (gateway towers), ranging from 45-50m in height. The tallest is the southern tower, 51.9 metres (170 ft) high,and two golden sculptured vimanas, the shrines over the garbhagrihas (sanctums) of the main deities. The temple attracts 15,000 visitors a day, around 25,000 on Fridays. There are an estimated 33,000 sculptures in the temple.It was on the list of top 30 nominees for the "New Seven Wonders of the World".Evening Witnessbed champer ceremony at Meenakshi temple.

DAY06 MADURAI – MUNNAR 

After breakfast proceed to Munnar and on arrival check in hotel.Evening visit local market/walk around tea plantations.Munnar is a town in the southwestern state of Kerala and is situated around 1600 m above sea level, in the Western Ghats range of mountains The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers referring to the location at the confluence of the Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers Munnar town is situated on the Kannan Devan Hills village in Devikulam taluk and is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district in Kerala.Return to hotel for over night stay.

DAY07 FULL DAY EXPLORE IN MUNNAR

After breakfast around 08.30 hrs Explore Munnar. Visiting eruvikulam National Park .The main body of the park consists of a high rolling hill plateau with a base elevationof about 2000 altitude grasslands interspersed with sholas Twenty six species of mammals have been recorded in the park including the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr,estimated at about 750 in number. The other ungulates are Gaur, Indian Muntjac andSambar Deer. Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat,Wild dog, Dhole, leopard and tiger are the main predators.Tea Processing Factory You will be taken to a known tea factory to witness the processing of high quality tea.Also visiting Mattupetty dam, Kandla Lake, Top station etc.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY08 MUNNAR- ALLEPPEY

After breakfast drive down to Alleppey- On arrival board in to a traditional Kettuvallam Houseboat for cruises and overnight stay . Houseboats in Kerala, are huge, slow-moving barges used for leisure trips. They are a reworked model of Kettuvallams , Kettu means "tied with ropes", and vallammeans "boat"), which, in earlier times,used carry rice and spices The popularity of Kettuvallams has returned in the function as major tourist attractions.Such a houseboat is about 60 to 70 feet (18 to 21 m) long and about 15 feet (4.6 m) wide at the middle. The hull is made of wooden planks that are held together by ropes of coconut fiber; the usual wood is 'Anjili'. The roof is made of bamboo poles and palm leaves

DAY09 ALLEPPEY- MARARI BEACH 

After breakfast check out from House boat at 09.30 hrs and drive to Mararikulam and check in a beach resort.Rest of the day free at sandy beaches of kerala or an ayurvedic massage to rejuvenate your mind and body.

DAY10 MARARI BEACH or DEPATURE

Cochin airport for your onward flight.
