Itenary Details

DAY01 ARRIVE KOCHI (COCHIN)

Arrive Cochin, meet upon arrival and transfer to hotel. Kochi, or more familiarly, Cochin is a city of many parts. Around for a long time, Kochi played a pivotal role in the development of shipping and trade in the region. Kochi's prime location on the west coast, its fine bay and protected harbor made it popular with seafarers and merchant ships who made frequent stops to stock up on spices, coffee and wood en route to the rich markets of Europe and West Asia. And so down the ages, Kochi prospered as a busy port city and commercial centre. Its seafront is still extremely relevant to Cochin and to India. In the evening, you will be taken to a Kathakali dance centre where you will witness the most elaborate of the dance forms in southern India.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY02 EXPLORE KOCHI

After Breakfast proceed for a half day city tour of Kochi visiting St.Francis Church, Chinese Fishing Nets, Dutch Palce (closed on Fridays) and Jews Synagogue (closed on Fridays, Saturdays & Jew Festival days) Heralded as the Queen of the Arabian Sea, Kochi was an important spice trading centre on the west coast of India from the 14th century. Occupied by the Portuguese Empire in 1503, Kochi was the first of the European colonies in colonial India. It remained the main seat of Portuguese India until 1530, when Goa was chosen instead. The city was later occupied by the Dutch and the British, with the Kingdom of Cochi Dutch Palace The Palace was built and gifted by the Portuguese as a present to the Raja of Cochin around 1555. The Dutch carried out some extensions and renovations in the palace in 1663, and thereafter it was popularly called Dutch Palace. The rajas also made more improvements to it. Today, it is a portrait gallery of the Cochin Rajas and notable for some of the best mythological murals in India, which are in the best traditions of Hindu temple art. The palace was built to appease the king after they plundered a temple nearby Jews Synagogue,Cochin oThe Paradesi Synagogue is the oldest active synagogue located in Kochi Constructed in 1568, It is one of seven synagogues of the Malabar Yehudan people or Cochin Jewish community in the Kingdom of Cochin. Paradesi is a word used in several Indian languages, and the literal meaning of the term is "foreigners", applied to the synagogue because it was historically used by the typical Jews, Chinese fishing nets (Cheena vala) are that are fixed land installations for fishing. While commonly known as "Chinese fishing nets. While such nets are used throughout coastal southern China and Indochina, in India they are mostly found in the Indian state of Kerala, where they have become a tourist attraction. The Indian common name arises because they are unusual in India and different from usual fishing nets in India.Overnight stay at hotel.

DAY03 KOCHI-MUNNAR

After Breakfast proceed to Munnar and on arrival check in hotel. Evening visit local market/walk around tea plantations. Munnar is a town in the southwestern state of Kerala and is situated around 1600 m above sea level, in the Western Ghats range of mountains The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers referring to the location at the confluence of the Madhurapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers Munnar town is situated on the Kannan Devan Hills village in Devikulam taluk and is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district in Kerala. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY04 VISIT MUNNAR

After Breakfast around 08 30 hrs explore Munnar. Visiting Erivikulam National Park.The main body of the park consists of a high rolling hill plateau with a base elevationof about 2000 altitude grasslands interspersed with sholas Twenty six species of mammals have been recorded in the park including the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr,estimated at about 750 in number. The other ungulates are Gaur, Indian Muntjac andSambar Deer. Golden Jackal, Jungle Cat,Wild dog, Dhole, leopard and tiger are the main predators.Tea processing factory You will be taken to a known tea factory to witness the processing of high quality tea.Also visiting Mattupetty dam, Kandla Lake, Top station etc.Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY05 MUNNAR-PERIYAR 110 KMS 04 HOURS

After Breakfast proceed to Periyar through wind winding ghat section of Western Ghats sharing the aroma of spices, tea ,coffee .cardamom, pepper, ginger, nut mug etc. On arrival check in hotel. Afternoon Spice Plantation tour for familiarizing different spices and herbal plants.Return to hotel for overnight stay.                 

DAY06 EXPLORE IN PERIYAR

Early morning you will be taken for fullday Trekking and Bamboo Drafting at Periyar wildlife sanctuary. This is a dawn to dusk range hiking and rafting programme through some of the richest forest tracts of Periyar Tiger Reserve. Starting at 8 am from the boat landing, a mosaic of habitats will be traversed before the party gets into rafts made of bamboos. The forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake. The team hitchhikes back to the boat landing by about 5 pm. An armed guard and 4 guides will accompany a maximum of 10 tourists. Tea, snacks and packed lunch will be served en route.Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY07 PERIYAR - KUMARAKOM 140 KMS 04 HOURS

After Breakfast drive down to Kumarakom through the hills traks and rubber plantations.On arrival check in hotel. Afternoon free at leisure.Evening SunSset cruise on backwaters. Kumarakom is a popular tourism destination located near the city of Kottayam (16 kilometres (10 mi)), in Kerala, India, famous for its backwater tourism.It is set in the backdrop of the Vembanad Lake which is the largest freshwater lake in the state of Kerala.Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY08 KUMARAKOM-ALLEPPEY 45 KMS 01 HOUR

After Breakfast drive down to Alleppey- On arrival board in to a traditional Kettuvallam HOUSE BOAT for cruises and overnight stay. Houseboats in Kerala, are huge, slow-moving barges used for leisure trips. They are a reworked model of Kettuvallams , Kettu means "tied with ropes", and vallammeans "boat"), which, in earlier times,used carry rice and spices The popularity of Kettuvallams has returned in the function as major tourist attractions.Such a houseboat is a bout 60 to 70 feet (18 to 21 m) long and about 15 feet (4.6 m) wide at the middle. The hull is made of wooden planks that are held together by ropes of coconut fiber; the usual wood is 'Anjili'. The roof is made of bamboo poles and palm leaves.Return to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY09 ALLEPPEY-MARARIKULAM BEACH

After Breakfast disembark from house boat at 09 30 hrs and drive to MARARIKULAM famous beach destination of Kerala. On Arrival check in to a beach Hotel.Rest of the day free at leisure and if extend to stay at Marari for enjoy beach.Final departure transfer to Cochin airport.
